Consulting in media: How to help Media outlets level up quality of content
About This Course
The quality of content available to a nation’s citizens is a defining element in news media viability because, if a country’s media are producing only low-quality, sensational or entertainment content, highly censored information, or disinformation, then the survival of the news media industry ceases to be a matter of much importance to society. Various studies indicate that the quality of East Africa’s Media and journalism content is low and that the media (especially mainstream media) is losing public trust. This is caused by a number of factors including but not limited to lack of expertise, strong editorial structures and systems. This package is therefore meant to create a pool of media and journalism consultants who would help media houses address content quality challenges and become more viable and trusted.
