Organisation

The Tanzania Media Fund consists of:

1. The TMF Secretariat

2. The TMF Steering Committee

3. The Grant Selection Committee

The secretariat is responsible for TMF’s daily operations and is overseen by the steering committee, an independent supervisory body.

The grant selection committee advises the secretariat on individual grants and makes decisions on institutional grants.

The TMF secretariat is responsible for day-to-day operations.

Steering Committee
The Steering Committee members are:

2. Gervas Moshiro - Deputy Chairperson

4. Alex Mgongolwa - Member
5. Karen Rothmyer - Member
6. Katharina Jenny – SDC, Member on behalf of Development Partners
7. Marjan Besuijen – TMF Executive Fund Manager

Grant Selection Committee
The Grant Selection Committee for 2010 is currently being chosen; members will be announced soon.

Hivos-Tanzania
Tanzania Media Fund is an independent initiative, but not an independent legal entity; during the three-year pilot phase, the initiative is being managed by Hivos-Tanzania.

Hivos-Tanzania is a not-for-profit company limited with no shareholders. Its Board of Directors includes Manuela Monteiro and Allert van den Ham.

Hivos-Tanzania is part of the global Hivos consortium based in The Netherlands.
