IS MY ORGANISATION ELIGIBLE?
TMF invites media houses, media associations, and media training institutes officially registered in mainland Tanzania and Zanzibar to submit proposals that promote investigative and public interest journalism within the country. Civil society organisations (CSOs) and media production companies must apply in partnership with the media houses.

Proposals that cover issues and voices outside Dar es Salaam, or that reflect unusual depth and creativity, are especially welcome.

Proposals may also include the following types of activities: media lobbying and advocacy; innovation or new technology; curriculum development; or media infrastructure development.

Applicant organisations must have been active in media for at least one year.

HOW TO APPLY
TMF uses a two-step application process to eliminate unnecessary work for applicants.

Step one is the standard concept letter, which TMF screens in order to determine if the project concept or idea is viable and the applicant meets the standard criteria. Applicants whose concept letters are approved shall obtain and submit the full proposal form for final consideration as step two. The application process takes 12 weeks or 90 days from the closing date. TMF will keep applicants informed about the status of their application along the way.

Applicant organisations may obtain the standard concept letter and full proposal forms from our office or download them at the bottom of this page. Concept application forms can be submitted without any attachments. However, full proposal applications should be submitted in duplicate together with the applicant organisation’s
a) constitution
b) memorandum and articles of association
c) certificate of registration and
d) an audited accounts record or financial overview

Applications can be submitted via email attachment, post office or delivery.

TMF does not tolerate corruption. You may report corruption confidentially to concern@tmf.or.tz or
