MISA Appointed as Legal Service Provider to TMF Grantees

TMF aims to offer limited legal support services to the individual journalists and media institutions that receive grants from TMF. In relation to this, TMF is happy to announce that we have signed an agreement with MISA Tanzania to support TMF grantees on legal matters. MISA will prepare a basic legal factsheet that will be shared with journalists who receive grants from TMF and will set up a legal service desk. MISA will also provide legal counselling to TMF grantees at key stages of their project implementation and where necessary in relation to court prosecutions. Overall MISA will be responsible for monitoring the changes in law and policies in the country regarding media and journalism and advise TMF and journalists at large on the best practices in compliance with the changes.
